Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Vehicle on Railroad Avenue in Newhall
Person Killed in Newhall Pedestrian Accident Sunday evening on Railroad Avenue and Lyons Avenue
Newhall, California (March 4, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Sunday evening in Newhall, authorities said.
At about 6:15 p.m. Sunday, March 3, officers received a report regarding a pedestrian hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Railroad and Lyons Avenues.
The pedestrian died in the accident. The name of the deceased has not been released pending identification and notification of family.
The officers arrived at the scene and conducted a field sobriety test on the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident. As of 7:30 p.m. Sunday, the results of the test were not provided.
A Witness at the scene said one person was transported into custody.
Railroad Avenue was closed in both directions between Lyons Avenue and 11th Street as authorities investigated the accident.
