57-Year-Old Man Dies in Modesto Pedestrian Accident on Keyes Road On-Ramp to Highway 99

Modesto, California (September 24, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday night in Modesto, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly accident took place at around 9:15 p.m. Monday, September 23 on the on-ramp from East Keyes Road onto northbound Highway 99.
As per the CHP report, a 2009 Nissan sedan driven by Matthew Higle, 34, of Ceres, was trying to enter the highway when it struck the pedestrian.
Emergency crews who responded to the scene found the male pedestrian lying on the on-ramp. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
Higle was uninjured.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
