58-Year-Old Woman Seriously Injured in San Francisco Pedestrian Accident at Golden Gate Avenue and Leavenworth Street

San Francisco, California (March 6, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle Tuesday morning in San Francisco, a local news source reported.
The accident was reported at around 10:31 a.m. Tuesday, March 5 in the Tenderloin neighborhood.
According to police, the female pedestrian was hit by a vehicle while she was walking across Leavenworth Street at Golden Gate Avenue.
Police said the driver involved was turning northbound onto Leavenworth from Golden Gate when for an unknown reason he struck the 58-year-old woman.
Responding paramedics found the woman lying in the road after the impact. She was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her name and condition were not immediately provided.
According to the police, the driver of the vehicle involved, a 36-year-old man, was not arrested.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
