Paso Robles, California (February 16, 2020) – Two children were airlifted following a golf cart collision involving a vehicle on Saturday evening in Paso Robles, according to a CHP report.
The crash was reported at around 5:52 p.m. February 15, on Heritage Boat Launch Road.
According to the report, a 29-year-old Paso Robles man was driving a 2018 Chevy Silverado when he made an unsafe movement while turning left into Heritage Boat Launch Road and collided with a Yamaha golf cart traveling eastbound.
The golf cart was carrying five minors, aged between three and eleven. The five were unrestrained and sitting in the bed of the golf cart. The driver of the golf cart was identified as Breana Roinestad, 33, of Santa Maria and she also had an adult passenger on the cart.
2 Children Airlifted after Paso Robles Golf Cart Crash
The impact of the collision ejected the children onto the roadway. Two children were airlifted to a hospital with severe injuries.
Two other victims had minor injuries and another was hospitalized with moderate injuries.
Roinestad was arrested on suspicion of DUI and other charges.
The crash is under investigation.
