Paso Robles, California (April 14, 2021)  One person was hospitalized with serious injuries after being involved in a car accident at an intersection in Paso Robles Monday afternoon.

The major injury two-vehicle crash happened at the intersection of Highway 46 and Union Road just about 12:27 p.m.

The California Highway Patrol did not immediately establish how a white Chevrolet 1500 collided with a cream-colored Mini Cooper near a landfill in the afternoon hours.

One unidentified victim was hospitalized with major injuries sustained in the mishap.

The wreck resulted in the closure of the intersection of Highway 46 and Union Road for an unknown time.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
