Man Killed, Woman Injured in Pacoima Car Crash on San Fernando Road near Osborne Street
Pacoima, California (January 7, 2019) – A man was killed while a woman was hurt in a fatal two-vehicle collision on Sunday morning in Pacoima, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The crash happened on San Fernando Road near Osborne Street next to the Metrolink rail at about 9 a.m. January 6.
According to a preliminary investigation, a white vehicle drifted into the path of oncoming traffic and collided with a second vehicle.
The force of the crash caused the second vehicle to crash through a fence. Firefighters responded to the accident and pulled out the 43-year-old male driver from the vehicle.
Police said the driver of the second vehicle died at the scene of the crash.
The 73-year-old woman driving the white car sustained critical injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
The drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicles at the time of the accident.
The crash caused a 10-minute delay in the Metrolink rail service between Antelope Valley and Lancaster as the white car was being pushed from the tracks.
The Los Angeles Police Department is working to determine the cause of the wreck.
