59-Year-Old Oroville Man Killed in Yuba City Crash on Clark Road near Highway 99

Yuba City, California (May 4, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Monday night traffic accident that killed a 59-year-old Oroville man near Yuba City in Sutter County.
The deadly accident occurred at about 9:05 p.m., on May 3, on Clark Road just west of Highway 99.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 1999 Nissan Sentra was traveling on Clark Road when it drove through the railroad crossing arms and was struck by an oncoming Union Pacific train.
Following the collision, the driver was ejected onto the roadway.

Sadly, the male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Clark Road was closed for several hours as Union Pacific crews checked the train and cars, and cleaned up debris.
Intoxication was suspected of having played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
