Newport Beach, California (June 16, 2021) – One person was killed in a traffic collision that occurred near Newport Beach on Tuesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on Highway 73 near Jamboree Road at about 3:55 p.m. June 15.
According to CHP, a sedan was involved in the crash with another vehicle that had rolled over in the southbound side of Highway 73.
Witnesses reported seeing a white BMW 540i traveling at a high rate of speed and collided with an old red vehicle that fell following the accident.

One person died in the accident.
Details on further injuries were not immediately available.
Both directions of Highway 73 were closed near the scene as officials examined the crash.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
