One Seriously Injured in Oceanside Train Collision near Cassidy Street and South Meyers Street

Oceanside, California (April 4, 2020) – One person was seriously injured in a collision involving an Amtrak train on Thursday evening in Oceanside, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
The incident happened at around 5:05 p.m. April 3, near Cassidy Street and South Meyers Street.
According to the authorities, a man in a white pickup truck was traveling westbound when he entered the tracks, into the path of an oncoming train. The pickup was hit by the Amtrak train, which was traveling southbound at 60 mph.
Man Seriously Injured in Oceanside Train Crash
The driver of the pickup was flown to Scripps Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The authorities are investigating the incident.
