Minor Injuries Sustained in Oceanside Crash on 5 Freeway near La Costa

Oceanside, California (May 29, 2019) – Minor injuries were sustained after a DUI collision early Tuesday morning in the area of Oceanside, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at around 2:02 a.m. Tuesday, on 5 Freeway, north of La Costa.
As per the CHP officials, two vehicles collided for reasons still under investigation.

An ambulance was sent to the scene to attend to the crash victims. The number of victims and their current condition was not immediately known.
One of the vehicles sustained front-end damage as a result of the crash.
Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the crash site.
Officials said that one of the drivers was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash. The suspect was cited and later released to the hospital for treatment.
No additional information concerning this crash was provided.
An investigation is ongoing.
