Man Dies in Oakley Pedestrian Accident near Big Break Crossing Sunday morning

Oakley, California (October 20, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train Sunday morning in Oakley, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident took place at around 7:20 a.m. near the Big Break crossing.
Police said a 42-year-old man was hit by a train that was heading westbound.
First responders found the 42-year-old man’s body approximately half-mile east of the crossing. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
Witnesses told the authorities that the man was struck by the train while he was sitting on the tracks with some of his belongings beside him.
No vehicle was involved in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation by Railroad police.
