Oakland, California (March 15, 2021) – One person sustained major injuries following a traffic accident that happened Saturday evening in Oakland, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

The major injury collision was reported just after 7:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13, on Interstate 80 at the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge. Interstate 80 is also known as Dwight Eisenhower Highway.

As per the CHP report, a red Scion, a beige sedan, a Toyota Prius and two other vehicles collided in the westbound lane of Interstate 80.

Paramedics responded to the scene and provided medical aid to the parties involved. Authorities said at least one person sustained major injuries in the crash.

No further details about the crash were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
