Nuevo, California (June 17, 2021) – Two people were sent to the hospital with serious injuries after a multi-vehicle pileup that took place Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Nuevo.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 5:51 p.m. at Ramona Expy and Bridge Street.

The report said four vehicles were involved in the crash.

A witness told authorities that a tan Chevy pickup truck caused the traffic collision by cutting off a white sedan.

Cal Fire responded to the scene and blocked all traffic lanes.

A driver and a passenger were transported to the hospital, both with major injuries. Their identities and conditions remained unknown.

Authorities are investigating to establish the cause of the collision.
