78-Year-Old Woman Dead in Napa Crash on Jefferson Street between Trancas Street and Pueblo Avenue

Napa, California (January 20, 2019) – One person was killed Saturday afternoon in a traffic accident in Napa, police said.
The deadly wreck was reported at around 3:12 p.m. Saturday, January 19 in the 3100 block of Jefferson between Trancas Street and Pueblo Avenue.
According to a report, a gray SUV was heading northbound on Jefferson when for an unknown reason it drifted into oncoming traffic and hit a gray passenger car. The passenger car then came to a stop on its roof after the impact.
A 78-year old Napa woman, who was the driver of one of the vehicles, was extricated from her wrecked vehicle by bystanders. Paramedics along with firefighters responded to the scene and performed CPR on the victim.
The woman was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her name has not been released pending identification and notification of her relatives.
The other driver was unhurt.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered factors in the collision. Authorities are investigating the accident.
