Mountain View, California (July 15, 2021) – A 59-year-old woman and a man were hit and injured by a vehicle on Wednesday night in Mountain View, authorities said.

The major-injury pedestrian accident transpired at about 9:20 p.m., on July 14, at the intersection of National Avenue and South 43rd Street, west of Interstate 805.

According to the police, the woman and the man were crossing National Avenue north on a pedestrian crossing when they were hit by a 2016 Jeep SUV that was turning left on National Avenue from 43rd Street.

The woman was hospitalized with a skull fracture and cerebral hemorrhage. The man sustained minor injuries in the accident.

The involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the officials.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
