Motorcyclist Gravely Injured in Crash on Rancho Mission Road in Grantville
Man Hospitalized after Grantville Motorcycle Accident on Rancho Mission Road and Friars Road

San Diego, California (October 25, 2019) – A motorcyclist was critically injured Friday evening in a traffic accident in San Diego’s Grantville neighborhood, according to police.
The crash happened at around 5:45 p.m. on Rancho Mission Road and Friars Road, just east of Interstate 15.
Authorities said a 50-year-old man was riding a 2014 Honda CTX motorcycle and was making a left turn from Rancho Mission Road onto Friars Road when he was hit by a westbound BMW Z3.
According to the police, the BMW entered the intersection against a red light and struck the motorcycle.
The rider was ejected from his bike upon the impact and suffered sustained life-threatening injuries.
The motorcyclist was taken by responding paramedics to a hospital. The name and condition of the victim were not immediately released.
The driver of the BMW, a 57-year-old man, was not injured in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
