Mother Killed in Moreno Valley Car Accident on Gilman Springs Road ID’d as Lucretia Garland
Moreno Valley, California (January 20, 2021) – A mother who died following a head-on accident in Moreno Valley Tuesday morning has been identified as 31-year-old Lucretia Garland of San Jacinto.
The deadly crash was reported at about 7 a.m. on Gilman Springs Road east of Alessandro Boulevard.
The accident began when a sedan veered off and crossed the double yellow lines before clipping a box truck.
The sedan then crashed head-on with an oncoming sedan that was operated by Garland.
Due to the impact, one of three Garland’s kids was pinned inside the wreckage and had to be rescued by firefighters.

Garland died at Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley while undergoing treatment of severe injuries.
Her three children, who were well buckled into car seats, survived with minor injuries.
The motorist of the car that instigated the collision was hospitalized with major injuries sustained in the wreck.
There were no other victims hurt, including the box truck operator.
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
