Man Killed in Moreno Valley Motorcycle Accident on Atwood Avenue near Indian Street

Moreno Valley, California (July 22, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed Thursday afternoon in a collision with a vehicle at an intersection in Moreno Valley, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The deadly crash happened at around 3:36 p.m. on Atwood Avenue, just west of Indian Street.
Authorities said a red 2004 Honda sport motorcycle was traveling behind a gray 2016 Kia Soul westbound on Atwood Avenue when the Kia attempted to turn from Atwood.
The motorcyclist reportedly crossed the center median to pass the Kia. For an unknown reason, the motorcyclist struck the Kia on the driver’s side.
The rider was thrown off the bike upon the impact.

The motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene, despite life-saving measures performed by emergency responders. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
The driver of the Kia, who was not hurt, stopped at the scene after the collision. It is undetermined whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
