Pedestrian Killed, Moises Santiago Arrested in Anaheim DUI Accident at Harbor Boulevard and Katella Avenue

Anaheim, California (January 9, 2021) – Moises Lopez Santiago, 38, of Norwalk, was arrested after an alleged DUI crash that killed a pedestrian Wednesday morning in Anaheim, according to a local news source.
The deadly pedestrian accident happened at about 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, at the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Katella Avenue.
According to the officials, a man was walking southbound across Harbor Boulevard when a white Astro van ran a red light and struck him. The van then crashed head-on into a palm tree.
First responders arrived at the scene and found the man wearing a security guard uniform, lying down in a marked crosswalk. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said the deceased victim was in his 50s and believed to have lived in Orange. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Santiago was taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries before being arrested on suspicion of DUI, causing injury, and gross vehicular manslaughter.
Traffic at the intersection was stopped for an unknown period due to the accident.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
