San Francisco, California (September 11, 2019) – a 12-year-old boy was hospitalized after being struck by a drunk driver in San Francisco on Tuesday evening.

The fatal collision was reported at around 5:00 p.m. September 10, at the intersection of Golden Gate Avenue and Leavenworth Street.

The boy was struck by a dark-colored Kia SUV driven by a 29-year-old Michael Frojas at the intersection for unknown reasons.

The victim sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. He was reported to be in stable condition at about 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday.

Frojas was arrested for felony DUI, driving without a driver’s license and not yielding to a pedestrian in connection to the tragic collision.

The investigation is ongoing.
