Stanislaus County, California (October 13, 2020) – A nine-month-old baby, Mia Fuentes, has been identified as one of the two persons who were injured in a single-vehicle crash on Monday morning in Stanislaus County, authorities said.

At about 5:45 a.m., on October 12, the California Highway Patrol responded to the major injury rollover accident on Crows Landing Road, just south of Bradbury Road.

The CHP said a 2005 Subaru wagon, driven by Alma Rosa Barajas Nuno, 37, of Modesto, was traveling northbound on Crows Landing Road when it drifted slightly off the east road edge.

Nuno reportedly tried to turn back to the left but lost control of the vehicle. The Subaru went across the southbound lane and flipped over several times, ejecting Fuentes.

Nuno, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained moderate injuries and was flown to Memorial Medical Center.

Fuentes sustained moderate injuries, including a head bleed. She was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center for treatment.

The CHP said Fuentes’s seat was not secured to the Subaru, and Fuentes was not secured to the child seat.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
