Mecca, California (November 27, 2019) – Two people died in a multi-vehicle accident that took place Tuesday evening at an intersection in Mecca, the California Highway Patrol said.

The crash was reported at about 6:43 p.m. on 66th Avenue at Grant Street.

Cal-Fire responded to the scene and confirmed that an ATV and two other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Two people lost their lives in the accident.

Thermal sheriff’s deputies said 66th Avenue was closed for several hours to allow investigators work the scene.

Witnesses at the scene said two teens were riding the ATV.

CHP is investigating the collision.
