Mauricio Oropeza Dies in Fatal Daly City Crash on Skyline Boulevard near Carmel Avenue

Daly City, California (January 17, 2019) – A Republic Services garbage truck driver was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday morning in Daly City, police said.
The crash took place at about 6:15 a.m. January 16 in the 600 block of Skyline Boulevard near Carmel Avenue.
Police said Mauricio Garcia Oropeza, 58, of San Francisco, was driving a truck picking up garbage and was heading north on Skyline Boulevard when he collided with a parked vehicle. Oropeza ended up outside the garbage truck and was pinned between the two vehicles.
Oropeza died of injuries sustained in the accident.
No other injuries were reported.
Police are working to determine the cause of the wreck.
