Matthew Lopez Arrested ID’d as Suspect Arrested after Visalia Car Crash at Santa Fe Street and Tulare Avenue

Visalia, California (September 6, 2020) – Matthew Lopez, 18, has been identified as the suspect who was arrested after a Saturday morning DUI crash that left at least six people injured in Visalia, authorities said.
The major injury crash transpired at about 3:00 p.m., on September 5, at the intersection of Santa Fe Street and Tulare Avenue.
According to the police, Lopez was driving a Chrysler 300 when it drifted off the roadway and struck a parked car.
Lopez reportedly over-corrected the Chrysler, causing it to cross all the traffic lanes and crashed into a tree.

Lopez and his five passengers were taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center for treatment. Two of the passengers sustained serious injuries while the other three suffered minor injuries.
Lopez was cleared by doctors and arrested on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
