Matthew Adams Injured in Ukiah Crash on Highway 101 near Highway 20; Ransome Anderson Arrested

Ukiah, California (January 8, 2019) – 40-year-old Mathew Adams was hospitalized after an alleged DUI collision Monday evening in the area of Ukiah, according to a local news source.
The accident happened at around 9:15 p.m. Monday, January 7, on Highway 101, north of Highway 20.
As per the report, 51-year-old Ransome Anderson was seen driving wrong-way in the northbound side of the highway. Adams and other drivers realized the wrong-way driver, and they tried to swerve to avoid the collision. Anderson finally crashed head-on into Adams’ sedan.
Adams was pinned inside his car and was extricated by responding firefighters. He was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where he admitted in the hospital’s intensive care unit and was listed in a fair condition.
Officials later arrested Anderson and booked him into the Mendocino County Jail on suspicion of DUI causing injury, failure to appear in court on a prior felony case and driving without a license and no insurance.
An investigation is ongoing.
