Mason Parnell Killed, 1 injured in Corona Car Crash on 91 Freeway near Buena Vista Avenue
Corona, California (April 24, 2019) – One person was killed and another was injured in an accident involving multiple vehicles last week in Corona, as per a local news source.
The crash took place at about12:45 a.m. April 16, on eastbound 91 Freeway, east of Buena Vista Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol said a Ford Focus and a Honda Accord stopped between the furthest right express lanes and left standard-traffic lanes on the eastbound 91 Freeway near Buena Vista Avenue. The Ford did not have functioning lights due to an earlier crash and was not visible to oncoming traffic.
A Mini Cooper crashed head-on into the Ford.
The impact of the collision caused the driver of the Ford, 19-year-old Mason Parnell, of Bakersfield, to be ejected through the open driver’s side door onto the roadway. A Toyota Corolla then rear-ended the Mini Cooper.
Pernell was declared dead, while his passenger, a 20-year-old walnut man was taken to Riverside Community Hospital.
The condition of the man was not immediately disclosed.
No further details of the crash were available.
The crash remains under investigation.
