Woman Dies after Marina Car Crash on Highway 1

Marina, California (September 1, 2020) – A woman was killed in a car crash on Tuesday near Imjin in Marina, authorities said.
The crash happened on September 1, on Highway 1.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Chevy, driven by the woman, was traveling northbound on the highway when it swerved to the right, back to the left, and into the center divider while avoiding a small couch in the fast lane.
The Chevy reportedly struck a guardrail and the driver.
Woman Killed in Traffic Crash on Highway 1 in Marina
The woman, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected onto the roadway. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A service dog was also in the vehicle with the woman. It was taken to an animal shelter.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the accident.
Highway 1 was closed for an unknown period due to the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
