Maria Mata ID’d as Woman Killed in Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Crash at Main and 97th Streets

Los Angeles, California (February 23, 2021) – Authorities have identified the woman who died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident early this month in Los Angeles as Maria Mata, 66, of Los Angeles.
The deadly accident occurred at around 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, at the intersection of Main and 97th streets.
Authorities said Mata was hit by a vehicle at the intersection.

Mata was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The involved driver did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the scene. The suspect’s vehicle was described as a white pickup truck with white wooden side paneling.
A reward of up to $50,000 is available for anyone who provides information leading to the suspect’s arrest.
