San Jose, California (September 30, 2020) – The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office has identified Maria Lordes Garcia Jauregui, 52, of Fresno, as one of the two victims who were killed in a two-vehicle accident on Sunday morning in San Jose.

The deadly car accident occurred at the intersection of Alum Rock Avenue and Alexander Avenue, at around 8:15 a.m., on September 27.

As per the police report, a white work van was heading westbound on Alum Rock Avenue at a high rate of speed when the driver allegedly ran a red light at the intersection and collided with a 2002 red Nissan Maxima that was heading southbound on Alexander Avenue.

The Maxima’s driver, Galdino Limon Agredano, 43, of San Jose, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jauregui, who was a passenger in the Maxima, was taken to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. 

The driver of the van was not injured in the crash. He was arrested and booked into custody on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and reckless driving.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
