Visalia, California (October 14, 2020) – A man was killed in a car accident in Visalia on Monday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The deadly collision happened on Riggin Avenue west of Florence Avenue at about 12:48 a.m. October 12.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 27-year-old man was driving a GMC Envoy eastbound on Riggin when he made an unsafe right turn, causing the vehicle to travel off the roadway where it crashed into a power pole.

The GMC continued in a southeasterly direction where it overturned and struck a street sign.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
