Man Killed after Train Hits Street Sweeper Truck on MacArthur Drive in Tracy
Man Killed in Tracy Train Accident on MacArthur Drive near Linne Road

Tracy, California (June 9, 2021) – A man was killed Wednesday morning in a collision involving a train and a street sweeper truck in Tracy, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The tragic accident occurred at around 7:05 a.m. near a construction zone on MacArthur Drive, just south of Linne Road.
CHP said a street sweeper truck was crossing over the train tracks when the crossing arms came down. The truck became stuck between the crossing arms.
The truck driver reportedly attempted to maneuver the sweeper truck off of the railroad tracks but was too late. The truck was eventually hit by an Altamont Commuter Express train.
Deadly Train Collision in Tracy
CHP said the driver of the truck died in the collision. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
No one on the train was injured. Authorities said the train was carrying between 50-100 people at the time of the accident.
The incident is under investigation.
