Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash on Evan Hewes Highway in El Centro
Holtville Man Dies in El Centro Accident on Evan Hewes Highway near Mets Road
El Centro, California (November 23, 2020) – A Holtville man was killed Saturday afternoon in a single-vehicle traffic accident in El Centro, according to a local news source.
The deadly crash occurred at around 12:40 p.m. Saturday, November 21, on Evan Hewes Highway, just east of Mets Road.
The California Highway Patrol said a 26-year-old Holtville man was driving a 1999 Ford eastbound on Evan Hewes Highway when, for unknown reasons, the Ford drifted off the roadway and onto the dirt shoulder.
The Holtville man reportedly turned his vehicle to the left, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle then rolled over and the driver was ejected from the vehicle.
Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead at the scene. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation by the CHP.
