East Hollywood, California (February 5, 2021) – A 25-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Friday morning in the East Hollywood area of Los Angeles, authorities said.

The deadly crash happened at about 5:00 a.m. on N. Ardmore Avenue, just east of Melrose Avenue.

According to the CHP, the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle within the number two lane of the freeway at Fountain Avenue and dragged under the car for about a mile.

First responders arrived at the scene and found the man lying in the 700 block of N. Ardmore Avenue.

Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

There was a previous two-car crash on the freeway. Investigators are trying to determine if those vehicles were somehow involved in the fatal hit-and-run.

The involved driver fled the scene and is being sought by the police. A silver sedan was believed to be the car that fatally struck the victim. The vehicle would have front end damage.

Traffic on the roadway was stopped for an unknown period due to the accident.
