Man Dies in Mountain View Crash on Highway 101 near Highway 85
Mountain View, California (July 11, 2021) – A man was killed early Saturday morning in a traffic collision in Mountain View, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly two-vehicle crash happened just after midnight on July 10 on Highway 101 South, just north of the Highway 85 connection.
The CHP said a man in his 40s was driving on Highway 101 when, for an unknown reason, his Subaru collided with a BMW.
The Subaru driver then lost control, struck a light pole and slammed into the highway sound wall before the car flipped onto its roof.
Deadly Highway 101 Crash in Mountain View
The driver and sole occupant of the Subaru was transported to Stanford Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The occupants of the BMW were uninjured.
Drugs or alcohol were not considered a factor in the collision.
The crash remains under investigation.
