Man Injured in Rollover Crash on 10 Freeway in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, California (May 2, 2021) – A man was injured in a rollover accident on Sunday morning in Los Angeles, authorities said.

The single-vehicle accident occurred at about 1:47 a.m., on April 25, on eastbound 10 Freeway at Normandie in the Arlington Heights area.

According to the CHP, a vehicle flipped over on the roadway in unclear circumstances.

First responders arrived at the scene and extricated the man and a dog trapped in the wreckage. After firefighters freed the dog and the man from the vehicle, the dog started running from the scene.

The male patient became combative with LAFD because he wanted to be transported with the animal. A CHP officer put the dog in the back of a patrol vehicle, and another CHP officer rode in the rescue ambulance with the victim to a local hospital.

Intoxication was suspected of having played a role in the accident.

More details about the accident were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
