Majoddi Mack ID’d as Man Killed in San Marcos Crash on Highway 78 at Woodland Parkway
San Marcos, California (April 16, 2021) – The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man who died Tuesday evening in a traffic accident in San Marcos as Majoddi Mack, 51, of Vista.
The deadly accident occurred at about 5:03 p.m., on April 13, on Highway 78 near Woodland Parkway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Dodge Charger, driven by Mack, was headed westbound on Highway 78 when, for unknown reasons, it veered to the right and struck a Chevrolet Express van. The van was waiting at the traffic light to enter the freeway at the time.
Following the collision, the vehicle flew through the air and crashed into two trees, a chain-link perimeter fence and four vehicles parked in a parking lot at 751 Rancheros Drive. It then flipped over and landed on its roof.
Vista Man Killed in Highway 78 Crash
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and extricated Mack who was trapped in the wreckage. He was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures performed by medical personnel.
The driver of the van was not injured in the accident.
Further details about the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
