Angwin Man Killed, Lorene McCaffrey Injured in Napa County Car Accident on Solano Avenue near Yountville
Napa County, California (March 13, 2019) – An Angwin man was killed and two other people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a head-on crash in unincorporated Napa County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly accident was reported at around 3:32 p.m. on Solano Avenue between Hoffman and Darms lanes just south of Yountville.
The CHP said the Angwin man was driving southbound in the northbound lane of Solano Avenue at a high rate of speed when his vehicle collided with a northbound 2004 Porsche driven by Lorene McCaffrey, 54, of Napa.

The Angwin man died in the accident. His name has not been released pending identification and notification of family.
McCaffrey sustained minor injuries and was taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center. A juvenile passenger in McCaffrey’s car was picked up by her father and sought their aid.
The CHP said all occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
