Man Killed, Woman Seriously Injured in Long Beach Car Crash on 710 Freeway near 405 Freeway

Long Beach, California (August 13, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Thursday morning wrong-way crash that killed a man and left a woman seriously injured in Long Beach.
The deadly head-on crash transpired at about 3:45 a.m. on the southbound Long Beach (710) Freeway near San Diego (405) Freeway.
According to the CHP, a 2019 Dodge Challenger, driven by the man, was headed northbound in the southbound lane of the freeway when it collided head-on with a southbound 2016 GMC Acadia, driven by a 29-year-old Buena Park woman.

Sadly, the Challenger’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Buena Park woman sustained major injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Traffic on the freeway was stopped until about 7:30 a.m. due to the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
