Lizhu Peng ID’d as Bicyclist Killed in Oakland Traffic Accident at Second Avenue and East 12th Street
Oakland, California (September 16, 2020) – The coroner’s office has identified Lizhu Peng, 67, as the bicyclist who was killed in a traffic accident on Tuesday afternoon in Oakland.
The deadly accident happened at about 12:12 p.m., on September 15, at the intersection of Second Avenue and East 12th Street near Lake Merritt.
According to the police, Peng was traveling southbound on Second Avenue on her bicycle when a U-Haul van struck her.
The van was reportedly making a left-hand turn onto East 12th Street from Second Avenue.

Peng was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
