Elk Grove, California (March 22, 2021) – The Lodi pedestrian who died following a traffic collision on a highway in Elk Grove Friday night has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as 23-year-old Lizandro Hernandez Botello.

The fatal crash took place on northbound Highway 99 at Sheldon Road at approximately 8:45 p.m. on March 19.

Botello was struck by multiple vehicles while attempting to cross the northbound lanes of the roadway.

Sadly, Botello died in the accident.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
