Woman Hospitalized after Live Oak Pedestrian Crash at 17th Avenue and Rodriguez Street

Live Oak, California (February 1, 2021) – A woman was hit and seriously injured by a truck on Friday afternoon in Live Oak, authorities said.
The major injury pedestrian accident happened on January 29, at the intersection of 17th Avenue and Rodriguez Street.
According to the CHP, the woman was crossing in a crosswalk at the intersection, headed in an easterly direction across 17th Avenue when a southbound 2006 Ford F-250 struck her.
The truck, driven by a 57-year-old Aptos man, was making a left turn onto 17th Avenue when the accident occurred, the officials said.
Pedestrian Injured in Crash at 17th Avenue and Rodriguez Street
The Woman sustained major injuries and was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.
A dog that was with the woman at the time of the accident was cared for at a nearby convalescent home until someone was able to alert her husband.
Intoxication was not suspected of having played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
