Lisa Solis Critically Injured in Thousand Oaks Hit-and-Run Accident near Thousand Oaks High School; Teen Arrested

Thousand Oaks, California (February 10, 2019) – A Thousand Oaks school employee was struck and injured by a hit-and-run motorist Friday night in Thousand Oaks, according to a local news source.
The hit-and-run accident took place at about 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 8 at Thousand Oaks High School.
Authorities said the suspect, a 16-year-old Thousand Oaks boy, stole money from a concession stand and ran over the woman while he was trying to flee the scene.
The woman, identified as activities assistant Lisa Solis, had to attempt to stop the teen from fleeing by standing in front of the vehicle. But the teen ran her over as he fled the scene.
Solis, who is also a parent of students in the district, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital where she was listed in critical condition.
The suspect fled the scene, but officers were able to locate him near his home. He was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and booked at the Juvenile Justice Center. His name was not disclosed because he is a juvenile.
According to the officials, the hit-and-run crash occurred during a CIF basketball playoff game at the campus.
The crash remains under investigation.
