Leon Parks Jr. Killed in Crash at North Rose Avenue and Cesar Chavez Drive in Oxnard

Oxnard, California (January 29, 2021) – Leon Parks, Jr., 71, of Oxnard, has been identified as the man who was killed in a Wednesday morning traffic accident that left three other people injured in Oxnard, according to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The accident happened in the area of North Rose Avenue and Cesar Chavez Drive at about 7:40 a.m. on January 28.

A 2004 Kia Rio was traveling on the roadway when the driver lost control, veered off, and crashed into a tree.

The 32-year-old male driver, a 21-year-old female passenger, and a 36-year-old male passenger, all from Oxnard, were trapped in the vehicle due to the collision.

The impact of the crash ejected Parks, who was also a passenger, from the vehicle. Sadly, Parks was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 32-year-old male driver and two other passengers were seriously injured in the accident and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
