Larry Kirven Jr. Killed in Bakersfield Motorcycle Collision on Edison Highway near Sterling Road
Bakersfield, California (June 25, 2021) – The motorcyclist who was killed in a traffic collision on June 16 in Bakersfield has been identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office as Larry Dewaynee Kirven Jr., 38, of Bakersfield.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 5:00 a.m. in the 3600 block Edison Highway, just east of Sterling Road.
A Ford SUV was pulling out of a driveway in the area when it entered Edison Highway directly into the path of Kirven, who was riding his motorcycle eastbound.

Kirven was wearing a helmet and was transported to Kern Medical, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Ford was uninjured.
The crash is under investigation.
