Lake Elsinore Man Killed in Lake Elsinore Motorcycle Crash on Highway 74(Ortega Highway)

Lake Elsinore, California (October 1, 2019) – A Lake Elsinore man has been identified as the man killed in a head-on motorcycle crash Monday afternoon in the area of Lake Elsinore, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The collision was reported at about 12:50 p.m. Monday, on Highway 74, also known as the Ortega Highway.
As per the report, a man in a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer was driving westbound on the roadway while a man on a sports bike-type motorcycle was traveling eastbound, about two miles west of Grand Avenue. The rider was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed exiting a curve in the roadway, and at the same time, the Mitsubishi driver was turning left into his driveway. The two cars ultimately crashed head-on.
Fatal Head-On Motorcycle Crash on Ortega Highway
Responding emergency crews confirmed the Lake Elsinore man dead at the crash site. The name of the victim was not immediately released awaiting notification of next of kin.
The Mitsubishi driver also, a man from Lake Elsinore was not hurt in the accident.
Authorities closed one lane of the Ortega Highway following the crash.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating this collision.
