Los Angeles, California (October 7, 2019) – A pedestrian was critically injured in an alleged hit-and-run crash in the Koreatown neighborhood, according to a local news report.

The accident happened at around 4:50 p.m.Saturday, October 4 near 5th Street and Western Avenue.

According to authorities, the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that was traveling westbound on 5th Street.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and found the victim lying in the road and suffering from life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash. The patient was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The name and condition of the pedestrian were not immediately available.

The driver of the vehicle involved did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. The suspect vehicle was described as a black car, possibly a Hyundai Elantra.
