Kimberly Valois Injured in Head-On Crash on Highway 46 in San Luis Obispo County
Kimberly Valois ID’d as 1 of 3 Injured in San Luis Obispo County Accident on Highway 46 and Highway 41
San Luis Obispo County, California (October 27, 2020) – Kimberly Valois, 57, of Morro Bay, has been identified as one of the three people who were injured Sunday night in an alleged DUI crash near the Cholame ‘Y’ in San Luis Obispo County.
The crash happened at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, October 25, on Highway 46 and Highway 41.
As per the CHP report, a 1997 Ford F-150, driven by Fidel Martinez Lopez, 70, of San Miguel, was heading eastbound at an unknown speed when it tried to turn left onto northbound Highway 41 at the Cholame Y and collided head-on with a 2008 Jeep Wrangler that was heading westbound on Highway 46 at about 55 miles per hour.
The force of the impact caused the Jeep to spin to the right shoulder of Highway 46.
Valois, who was a passenger in the Jeep, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton.
The Jeep’s driver, identified as Jimmy Dickerson, 50, of Morro Bay, was also taken to Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton with moderate injuries.
Lopez sustained major injuries and was transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo. He was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The accident remains under investigation.
