Kiana Coulter ID’d as Woman Killed in Bakersfield Car Crash on Alfred Harrell Highway near Fairfax Road
Bakersfield, California (January 18, 2021) – The woman who was killed Saturday evening in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Bakersfield has been identified as Kiana Lashay Coulter, 24.
The deadly accident happened at around 4:02 p.m. Saturday, January 16, on Alfred Harrell Highway, just east of Fairfax Road.
Authorities said Coulter was driving a Ford Expedition eastbound on Alfred Harrell Highway at a high rate of speed when, for unknown reasons, she lost control, and the vehicle veered onto the dirt shoulder.
The vehicle then rolled several times before coming to a rest on its wheels.

Coulter was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were nine children in the vehicle, three of whom were in car seats that were not properly installed.
The children, a six-year-old girl, two five-year-old boys, one four-year-old boy, and a 5-month-old baby, sustained minor injuries and were taken to Kern Medical for treatment.
Traffic on the roadway was stopped for an unknown period due to the collision.
It was not immediately clear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the mishap.
