Kevin Young among 2 Injured in Calistoga Head-On Collision on Highway 29 near Azalea Springs Road
Calistoga, California (July 9, 2021) – Kevin Young, 33, of Windsor, was among two people who were injured Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Calistoga, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The major injury collision happened at around 6:30 a.m. Thursday, July 8 on Highway 29, just north of Azalea Springs Road.
According to CHP, Young was driving northbound on Highway 29 when, for an unknown reason, he allowed his 2011 Ford Mustang coupe to cross over the center median into the southbound lane, where it collided head-on with an oncoming 2015 GMC Sierra driven by Eric Valencia Jr., 33, of Santa Rosa.
The Mustang was facing the wrong way after the collision.
Major Injury Accident on Highway 29 in Calistoga
Valencia sustained major injuries and Young had moderate injuries. Both were transported to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center.
Both vehicles were towed away with major front-end damage.
CHP is investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
