West Covina, California (June 1, 2021) – Kerry Welsh, 19, of Glendora, has been identified as the driver who died following a Saturday night car crash at a West Covina intersection.
Authorities said the tragic wreck took place at the intersection of Vine and Hollenbeck Avenues on Saturday, May 29.
According to the authorities, Welsh was on her way to pick up her younger sister from a birthday party when another vehicle allegedly ran a red light at the intersection and t-boned her vehicle.
Deadly West Covina Car Crash Saturday
Welsh was transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle was transported to the hospital in unknown condition.
It is undetermined if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
